The UChicago Justice Project is a group that blends social sciences and the arts to conduct multi-city projects on neighborhood violence, redistricting, and policing. We seek to achieve institutional change in cities by pursuing projects that hold powerful institutions accountable and provide tools to imagine and implement social change. We are located at the University of Chicago Department of Sociology (1126 E 59th St), and are committed to transparent and replicable social science. All codebooks, data, data agreements, and protocols will be posted on this site. Accordingly, we do not sign proprietary data agreements with law enforcement agencies. We are generously supported by the Social Sciences Division at the University of Chicago, and a gift made in the memory of Gayle and Morris Janowitz.
